Overview

Members of Growing Tree's Pandemic Response Team have attended webinars, video conference calls, read articles, and listened to podcasts related to reopening schools. Using these resources along with input from public officials, other school leaders and survey data from Growing Tree Preschool parents, we have adopted components from many models to create a plan that best fits Growing Tree Preschool for the fall of 2020.

Our plan is to welcome students to our various locations beginning at the end of August. However, we understand the ongoing presence of COVID-19 in our community requires us to plan ahead for future outbreaks.

The Pennsylvania Department of Health and the Governor of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania utilize the Red, Yellow, and Green three phase matrix for restrictions on work, congregate settings, and social interactions. We have broken our plans down into these categories. Here are the highlights of the plan:

►  In the Red phase students will be doing on line learning.

►  In the Yellow and Green phases, students will learn at their locations on a regular schedule.

►  Growing Tree Preschool students are expected to attend classes during the Yellow and Green phases. If you have questions concerning this policy, please email leby@growingtreepreschool.org

►  Parents are responsible to be aware of their child’s health in all phases. If your child’s temperature is 100.4 or above, he/she is required to stay at home.

►  According to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention, COVID-19 affects different people in different ways. Infected people have had a wide range of symptoms reported – from mild symptoms to severe illness. Symptoms may appear 2-14 days after exposure to the virus. If you suspect your child may have COVID-19, please have them see a medical professional. People with the following symptoms may have COVID-19:

  • Fever or chills
  • Cough
  • Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
  • Fatigue
  • Muscle or body aches
  • Headache
  • New loss of taste or smell
  • Sore throat
  • Congestion or runny nose
  • Nausea or vomiting
  • Diarrhea
